In turbulent times, it's easy for life to be ruled by fear and self-judgment.
The turbulence and its related chaos gain strength by demonizing the unknown future.
All that is wrong, past, present, and future, is erroneously connected to the unexpected and the uncertainty which is a natural part of life.
To reinforce the idea of the big bad unknown, fear and judgment are handed out consciously and covertly.
The goal is to make you live in fear and judge yourself for the fear and for your lack of self-worth.
Relying on fear and self-judgment becomes so second nature, most of us aren't aware of how we beat up on ourselves.
Blind reaction is unnecessary and never beneficial to you.
That's why I write a lot about fear and self-judgment.
Both keep you from thriving even in turbulent times.
Both are insidious habits which will never help you move forward in life as the amazing person you are.
What helped me move beyond their attempt to rule my life are these ideas:
Fear is a choice; thus I can choose how I respond to fear.
Fear has gifts so it's not about getting rid of fear – it’s more about HOW I work with these gifts to support my life.
Self-judgment stops motion forward and life stagnates.
The answer isn't perfection. The answer is self-kindness combined with a positive attitude towards change.
In other words, in turbulent times, instead of bashing yourself, try a little kindness and know you always have choice in HOW you decide to be and become.
I know that sometimes life is awful. Yet, at the end of the day the difference is in HOW I respond and HOW I attend to myself.
Again, not about perfection.
Rather about your ability to believe you can thrive as a whole, worthy, and awesome human being.
In Joy!
